John joined Momentum North America as its president in 2015, bringing almost 30 years of diversified experience in machining and related industries.
For the most recent 17 years, he had served in executive and management roles with the machine tool accessory manufacturers SMW Systems and ATS Workholding. John had been president of SMW when ATS acquired it in 2006, and he became CEO of the combined firms in 2009.
John had been raised in Connecticut and earned his Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York in 1990. Upon graduation, he moved to Southern California to join the Ingersoll-Dresser Pump Company as a manufacturing engineer.
After several years with Ingersoll, he joined Kaiser Aerospace and Electronics Corporation. There, he was the lead manufacturing engineer in a focused factory dedicated to producing stabilizer-trim actuators and other gearbox mechanisms for commercial and military aircraft.
During this tenure, John earned his MBA with a concentration in corporate finance from the University of California in Irvine. Upon graduation in 1997, he joined SMW Systems, where before becoming president he served as a product manager and then vice president of sales.
